Thank you for being interested in A Child’s Dream-CA (ACDCA) Annual Holiday Outreach & Wellness Fair 2026!
About this Event
We are excited that you want to volunteer during our outreach on Saturday, December 19, 2026. The event is open to the public from 11:00 am -2:00pm; however there are three (3) volunteer opportunities shifts available from 7:30 am - 3:00 pm.
We ask volunteers to commit to at least 4 hours or All Day.
Here is what the adventure involves:
- Morning Momentum (Unload & Setup): Before the doors open, the team rolls up their sleeves to unload transport trucks, arrange event tables, unbox supplies, and stage ACDCA distribution areas.
- The Main Event (Smiles & Service): Once the celebration begins, volunteers step onto the front lines! Team members guide attending families through the welcome line and host ACDCA's many gifting stations—distributing brand-new toys, personal hygiene items, clothing, and holiday cheer.
- ACDCA staff actively monitor event flow and determine who goes where; when another area needs support, staff will direct volunteers to float and assist where the operational need is greatest.
- The Final Victory Lap (Breakdown & Truck Reload): The outreach doesn't conclude when distribution ends—the finish line is crossed together!
- Every volunteer stays to pack remaining supplies, sweep and restore the facility, and reload the logistics trucks so the venue is left spotless. (No one gets left behind with the heavy lifting!)
- Community Service & Volunteer Hour Verification: Official community service verification letters and service hour sign-offs are gladly provided upon request for students, school programs, or civic organizations. Please indicate that you need volunteer hours on your registration form when signing up, and ensure you check in and check out with ACDCA leadership on event day to verify your completed shift.
A Quick Checklist Before Joining the Team:
To ensure the day runs smoothly and safely for every attending child and family, all volunteers agree to these core commitments:
- Age 14 & Up: Volunteers must be at least 14 years old (and volunteers ages 14–17 must have a participating parent, guardian, or adult sponsor volunteering alongside them).
- Full-Shift Teamwork & Staff Direction: Volunteers come ready to jump into the full cycle—from pre-event unloading and setup through post-event breakdown and reloading the trucks. Station assignments and floating are managed directly by ACDCA staff; volunteers agree to remain flexible and transition to new stations or tasks whenever requested by team leadership. (If you have physical limitations or require an accommodation preventing heavy lifting or prolonged standing, please indicate this on your registration form when signing up so ACDCA can coordinate appropriate, modified service tasks in advance).
- Child Safeguarding & Family Privacy: Attending families deserve complete dignity and confidentiality. Personal mobile phones and cameras stay put—no personal photos, video recordings, or social media posts of attending children and families.
- Integrity First: Every single toy, item, and resource is reserved strictly for registered recipient families.
