About this Event
Voices Raised in Remembrance
A Remembrance Sunday concert in aid of Combat Stress
Join Amici miei, a group of passionate singers, for an afternoon of songs, arias, duets and ensembles at St Paul's Knightsbridge on Remembrance Sunday. All proceeds go to Combat Stress, the UK's leading charity for veterans' mental health. Experience the varied emotions from a wide selection of pieces, some well known and others less well known. There will even be a singalong so that eveyone can honour the spirit of this important day.
The programme
From Mozart's Le nozze di Figaro (the duet made famous by The Shawshank Redemption), Don Giovanni and Così fan tutte to the Flower Duet from Lakmé, Puccini's "Che gelida manina" and the great Quartet from Verdi's Rigoletto. There is also Rossini, Donizetti, Handel, Brahms and Humperdinck, alongside "Moon River", "Danny Boy" and Ivor Novello's "Keep the Home Fires Burning", the song that defined the First World War. And a mystery guest.
Performers
Anthony Caplan (tenor) · Anthony Cohen (bass-baritone) · Deborah Lee (soprano) · Luci de Nordwall Cornish (mezzo-soprano) · Kim Whyte (soprano) · Gus Tredwell (piano)
