About this Event
VOICES in the HALL: Civic Engagement Evening
Experience democracy, culture, and community action inside Toronto’s historic 1850s grand landmark.
In celebration of 20 YEARS of YD ~ an epic milestone for YD Global, you are formally invited to VOICES in the HALL ~ an elegant, non-partisan evening of civic dialogue and award-winning talent. Taking place exactly one month before the Municipal Election, this premier event bridges the gap between our future leaders and the decision-makers of today.
Set against the majestic backdrop of St. Lawrence Hall’s Great Hall, this moderated forum offers residents a rare platform to engage directly with Toronto's candidates and invited provincial and federal leaders on the vital issues shaping our city.
A Milestone Celebration of Visionary Leadership
We are profoundly privileged to welcome the Honorable Dr. Jean Augustine as our distinguished Guest of Honour. Alongside a formal tribute introducing her historic contributions to Canadian democracy, we will also be hosting a special joint September Birthday Celebration with the YD Founder ~ complete with cake for all guests to share with our dignitaries!
This evening is also proudly presenting Youth for Human Rights International (YHRI) Canadian Director and Guest Speaker, Nicole Crellin. For two decades, YD and YHRI have worked side-by-side to deliver human rights education, ensuring our next generation possesses the platforms, confidence, and tools to engage their passions to the applause of their communities.
Interspersed Award-Winning Entertainment
To ensure an evening of dynamic energy, our moderated political blocks will be beautifully interspersed with world-class performances from our celebrated YD Ambassadors:
✨ Carla Sacco – World-renowned virtuoso, UN delegate, and award-winning international tribute artist who has fronted over 2,500 global concerts
🕺 Morpheus Richards – Renowned Degrassi Alumni and YD Ambassador for Diversity, delivering an electrifying performance with his signature moves
🎤 Zlata Barchuk – Brilliant 10-year-old YD Ambassador for Peace, delivering a powerful and moving rendition of Michael Jackson’s Earth Song
