14th Annual Festival de las Calaveras – Twin Cities Día de los Muertos Celebration🌟Rising Voices Spotlight🌟
Presented in partnership with the MN Council on Latino Affairs
🔥 VIRGINIA’S BASEMENT
A five-piece POC-fronted post-hardcore emo band from Saint Paul, Virginia's Basement calls their sound "emo trash" — supposed to sound awful and beautiful and make you kinda cry.
Influenced by Rites of Spring, Fugazi, Bright Eyes, and La Dispute, they offer a gritty, narrative-heavy Midwest sound with spoken word woven between songs. Their 2025 album Dearly, includes a track called "Love Song for la Llorona".
💀✨ Celebrating the next generation of Latino, Latina, and Latinx artists who carry the spirit of Día de los Muertos forward: life, memory, and connection with our ancestors through art & music!
