About the Event: Brisbane’s ten-piece funk collective Vinyl Lychee brings its debut album, Vol. I, to the Brisbane Jazz Club on Thursday, 19 November 2026. Built on deep grooves, soulful melodies and jazz harmony, the band combines guitar, two keyboard players on synths, pianos and organs, bass, drums, percussion, vocals and a three-piece horn section.
The first set performs the album in full: original music shaped by funk, soul and jazz.
The second set opens out into the band’s favourite songs and instrumental arrangements, with featured soloists throughout.
The sound pairs tightly arranged horns and layered keyboards with a rhythm section built for the stage.
Featuring Carrick Sudgen (guitar, composer, producer), Mark Peric (bass), Josh Bakta (drums), Rene Louis (percussion), Ben Byrne (trumpet, saxophone), Clint Allen (trumpet), Dave Cox (saxophones), Dan Khoury (organ, synth), Wil Sargisson (keyboards) and Toni Allayialis Bann (vocals).
