Joe Potter and his team are planning something special at his Wilson Street “speed shop”. This is the shop where some amazing resto-mods are going on, and that’s the topic – improving, modernizing and “modding” your car. There’s a Milano Verde receiving a twin-turbo motor and an old Mercedes SL getting a… well… you just gotta see it.
Joe will cover brakes, suspension and some of the newest advances in autos, including electric air conditioning and more. Joe is also working on a modified Alfa engine that he’s excited to give a “sneak peek” to AROO.
Wilson Street is Vintage Underground’s newest shop – this is where all the metal fabrication is done. We’ll learn a little about that also – using some of the tools and machines to bend, stretch and curve metal into fabulous shapes. Past events at Vintage Underground have been quick 10-12 minute tours of each of the shops; this one features a “deep dive” into one of the more exciting of the many locations of this incredible complex. Don’t miss it!
If you are coming down from PDX metro, the drive will take about 90 minutes from the Baldock Rest Area. Plan for a 10:30 arrival if you are not going on the tour. Once at the shop, we’ll be there until about 12:30-1:00.
LUNCH INFO: From there we will head to the little town of Coburg for lunch at their food truck village, called the “Coburg Greenhouse”. There are Thai, Salvadoran Papusas, and “Mex-eclectic” trucks, all great. The area is five minutes from I-5, so getting home is easy.
Joe is planning some special stuff as well, and his “Vintage Underground Dynamics” shop is not to be missed! The Ducks aren’t in town so it should be relatively calm in Eugene – plan for a day of information, inspiration and fun!
