For Village Musics' finalé soirèe for 2026 they are extremely pleased to bring the Black Quartet and "Through The Looking Glass" to the old Mt Eden Hall.
The best way to describe this Quartet is in their own words:
"We are a group of four women, 2 cellists and 2 violinists who have had extensive careers performing in many different musical formations, encompassing a multitude of genres, arranging and recording for numerous artists and enjoying a plethora of musical experiences both locally and internationally.
As a group of very good friends, this project has been a labour of love and experimentation. We write all our own arrangements of the fabulous well known songs we love, creating a varied and exciting program, giving them a completely new feel and new life but never losing the integrity and mana of their origin.
Our audiences really enjoy hearing the famous melodies they recognise in a totally new and exciting way with many folk, country and classical references to keep everyone (including us!) on their toes."
Join us for a very unique musical journey… "Through the Looking Glass". As always, bring friends, bring family, bring your ears and BYO - This will be a Friday night concert to remember fondly. Tickets are at Eventfinda here:
