All K-12 social studies educators are invited to attend our 32nd annual conference, Vermont at 250: Voices of the Past, Leaders of the Future.
This year marks the Vermont Alliance for the Social Studies' 32nd annual conference. With an eye towards establishing context for educating students as we mark the 250th anniversary of Vermont, this year's theme will be Vermont at 250: Voices of the Past, Leaders of the Future. All full participants will receive a PD certificate for 8 Hours.
Our keynote speakers are Dr. Pamela Walker, an Assistant Professor of African American History at the University of Vermont and Derek Tisler, Esq., Counsel and Manager of the Elections & Government Program at the Brennan Center. There will also be over 20 breakout sessions led by area educators on a diverse range of topics relevant to K-12 social studies educators. There will also be exhibitors representing a variety of museums, publishing houses, and other relevant non-profits. Conference admission includes admission to all sessions, wifi, continental breakfast, lunch, 1 year membership in VASS, and discounted parking. Come join over 160 area educators to network and learn new content and strategies for teaching your students. This event is also co-sponsored by the Vermont Historical Society who is offering free admission to tour the museum to all participants on the day of the conference.
