Event Description
🍺 6th Annual Verano Bräu Homebrew Competition

The San Antonio Cerveceros, in collaboration with Künstler Brewing, invite homebrewers to participate in the 6th Annual Verano Bräu Homebrew Competition!

This year's competition style is: BJCP 18B — American Pale Ale

Bring your best American Pale Ale and compete for the opportunity to have your winning recipe brewed on the professional brewing system at Künstler Brewing!

The winning beer will be brewed at Künstler Brewing and served to the public.

Space is limited (12 entries), so register early!


🏆 THE PRIZE

The competition winner will have the opportunity to:

  • Brew their winning recipe on the Künstler Brewing system
  • Have the resulting beer served/sold at Künstler Brewing

Brewers should formulate their entries according to the current.


📅 IMPORTANT DATES

Registration Opens: Friday September 18th.

Registration Deadline: Friday October 23rd.

Entry DropOff Deadline: Saturday October 24th - Sunday October 25th,Entries must be dropped off at Künstler Brewing during their regular business hours. No exceptions.

Judging: Monday October 26th at Künstler Brewing

Judging will take place at Künstler Brewing. Brewers may not be present in the judging area during judging.

Winner Announced: Monday October 26th evening after judging!

Brewers who are part of the Stammtisch may not participate as judges.

Künstler Brewing, San Antonio, Texas

Drop-off dates: Friday October 23rd - Sunday October 25th at Künstler Brewing during regular business hours


Competition Rules
  • Registration is limited to the first 24 paid entrants.
  • $10 per entry.
  • One entry per person.
  • Each brewer must submit three 12 oz. bottles.
  • Bottles must have no identifiable markings.
  • Bottles may only be capped with solid-colored bottle caps.
  • All ingredients must be sourced within Texas.
  • The yeast strain used must be available to Künstler Brewing.
  • Entries must be submitted to Künstler Brewing by the stated deadline. No exceptions.
  • Brewers who are part of the Stammtisch may not judge the competition.
  • The winning beer will be brewed on the Künstler Brewing system. Winning brewer must be able to come brew the beer!

Bottle / Label Requirements

Each brewer must submit 3 × 12 oz. bottles.

For each bottle:

  1. Print the official competition label template (Link) from the registration website here: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1qyqHrVHd62GIUKe2oir7AKCG2pOMl0wg.
  2. Fill out the required contact information on all three labels, either by typing or writing legibly.
  3. Cut out the three labels.
  4. Place each label in a separate plastic sandwich bag and seal it.
  5. Place one bagged label on each of the three bottles.
  6. Use one rubber band to attach each label/bag to its bottle.
  7. Do not put identifying markings on the bottles.
  8. Use only solid-colored bottle caps.
