Set 1 – Vera Jónás, Lisa Hoppe & Paul Brody
Vera Jónás – voice
Lisa Hoppe – bass
Paul Brody – trumpet
Hungarian singer-songwriter Vera Jónás, now based in Berlin, has a way of making a quiet line feel close and personal – then letting a song spring into something unruly. This time she brings her own music to a new trio with bassist Lisa Hoppe and trumpeter Paul Brody. Both are experienced improvisers, and the trio brings their approaches into Jónás’s songs.
Jónás’s acoustic songs meet spoken word and live electronics in this new formation. She has only recently met Brody and Hoppe; PANDAwomen is a chance to hear what the three make together.

Set 2 – Gaia Mobilij
Italian-born, Barcelona-based Gaia Mobilij makes music with many moving parts, all under her hands. She sings and plays accordion, Calabrian lyre, Mediterranean percussion and synthesizers, building loops live and reshaping acoustic sounds with beats and samples. You can hear the instruments change as she plays – a melody comes through clearly, disappears into the rhythm and surfaces again in a different light.
Before her solo project, Gaia led the world-fusion band Taluna across Europe and the Americas. Since 2022 she has been taking her music further into electronic territory without losing the pull of its Mediterranean roots. Her set can move from a folk-inflected refrain to techno, drum & bass or trance, with space for the unexpected turns in between. After the trio’s close-up songs, the room opens out.

Set 1 – Vera Jónás, Lisa Hoppe & Paul Brody
Vera Jónás – Gesang
Lisa Hoppe – Bass
Paul Brody – Trompete
