Venus is an anti-disciplinary artist working through sculpture, performance, and painting as a way to examine themes of trauma, colonialism, community, sexuality, and disassociation through didactic and abstract approaches.
By pushing a medium to its limit and allowing it to break - their work acts as a mirror which reflects their personal experiences and emotional state. There’s a release of energy that occurs as one experiences the work. It oozes, breathes, vibrates, transforms, and expands. Every piece reflects on the other; learning, preaching, yearning for understanding and compassion. An act of rebellion and defiance against those who impose wrongs and a voice for those who’ve been hurt.
