After a sell-out trip to Dublin, we are delighted to announce the return of the Vacca Academy Masterclasses in Vacuum Birth to London on 17 and 18 November 2026 at the Holiday Inn London – Whitechapel.
This is not simply a course in how to use a vacuum device. It is an immersive masterclass in understanding vacuum birth: how to assess it, plan it and perform it successfully—from simple ‘lift-outs’ to complex rotational births.
The Vacca method represents the gold standard in vacuum birth training: an evidence-based, highly practical approach grounded in a precise understanding of fetal head position, flexion, cup placement, traction and the mechanics of birth. The masterclass helps clinicians understand exactly why a vacuum birth succeeds—or fails—and how to make safer, more confident decisions in real time.
The four hour face-to-face masterclass is complemented by an exclusive online learning component, available only to course participants. This allows delegates to explore the principles of the Vacca method in advance, consolidate their understanding at their own pace and arrive ready to make the most of every minute of hands-on practice.
Working in small groups with expert, supportive faculty, participants undertake repeated, deliberate practice using advanced simulation. Building on the foundations of mandatory training, the course offers detailed technical coaching, individual feedback and the opportunity to refine the subtleties of assessment, cup application and traction—maximising the likelihood of a safe, successful birth.
