A variety of observations and experiments, from powerful telescopes scanning the night sky to particle physics experiments deep underground, has revealed the structure and contents of our universe on scales from the cosmic to subatomic. This provides a rich testing ground for quantum mechanics and gravity, including in the realms where they both play a role, with consequences for understanding the beginning, and end, of the universe.Dr. Evan McDonough is a theoretical physicist and Assistant Professor at the University of Winnipeg. His work applies quantum physics to problems in cosmology and astrophysics, including dark matter, dark energy, and cosmic inflation.
