About this Event
“My soul is fed with needle and thread”
Come and spend a fun, creative day making new things from fabric and clothes that already exist!
In the morning, choose to make an upcycled zipped bag or Christmas stocking, then in the afternoon we'll turn a preloved T-shirt into a stretchy headband.
I'll also share tips for working with stretch fabric and show you how to harvest useful bits from old clothes and give them another life.
Who is this day for?
This workshop is for anyone who is comfortable using their sewing machine and would like to explore upcycling and making more sustainably.
You don't need to be an expert upcycler, just be happy sewing independently and having a go at something a little different.
If you're unsure whether it's right for you, just get in touch and I'm very happy to chat.
Details
The 5-hour day (half an hour is allowed for lunch and a bit of time either end of the day for set up and clear up) is held in a room in Westbury Arts Centre where we have plenty of space to learn and make. This workshop is all about immersing yourself in the joy of creativity, ditching perfectionism and embracing the fun of creating. Steph has over 35 years of experience with sewing and making things and is keen to share her love of making and creating, so please join her for the chance to learn, make and grow.

Testimonials
Another great day with Steph learning loads and walking away with useful items – Debbie
Great workshop - always a great day out and learn new ways to use my machine.
Thank you so so much for today. I’m at home and I’m in awe of what I’ve done. How have I waited so long to do this? This is the second sewing course I’ve ever been on, both run by Steph and look back at both and I can’t believe the advanced items I’ve made. They look so professional. Jacqueline
Would recommend to anyone! Brilliant class, great trainer, learnt loads and have 2 things to take away! Ellie
