Join United Way of St. Lucie & Okeechobee for October’s United in Conversation, a community roundtable focused on Florida’s Amendment 3 and what it could mean for homeowners, local governments, and our community. This is a conversation, not a debate. United Way is not taking a position on Amendment 3 or telling anyone how to vote. Instead, we’re bringing community leaders together to better understand the proposal, hear different perspectives, and talk about what local leaders are seeing, preparing for, and thinking about as we head toward the election.
We’ll focus on three things:
🔹 UNDERSTAND — What does Amendment 3 actually propose?
🔹 LOCALIZE — What could the proposal mean for homeowners, Port St. Lucie, St. Lucie County, and the community services we rely on?
🔹 CONVERSE — What are local leaders seeing, preparing for, and asking as the conversation continues?
The Florida Department of State currently lists Amendment 3 as a 2026 ballot measure concerning changes to homestead exemptions, non-homestead assessment caps, and local property-tax use.
Today isn’t about telling anyone how to vote. It’s about creating space for a thoughtful, informed community conversation.
