UNCAGED HOTLINE - WHAT IS IT?
A public safety resource that provides over the phone advocacy and emotional support for people jailed in Rappahannock Regional Jail
- What we will do on the call
- Be a supportive ear and someone to talk to who will listen
- Gather information and triage incidents of abuse, mistreatment, or neglect
- No discussion of open court cases or legal advice
- How we help after the call
- Hound their Public Defender / Lawyer
- Help fill out Jail Paperwork
- Reach out to their family or peoples
- Write advocacy letters
- File FOIA requests
