About this Event
Join us Tuesday, October 25, at 6:00pm at McKnight Hall on the UNC Charlotte Campus.
Ashton Applewhite will discuss "Ageism: The Overlooked Intersection."
Applewhite is a nationally recognized voice in the effort to address ageism and ableism. Her lecture will help participants to uncover their own ageist biases and think more broadly about how we interact with older adults and our own aging selves.
This event is free and open to the public but we ask that you register in advance as seating is limited. Signed copies of her book, This Chair Rocks, will be available for purchase. Reception with light hors d'oeuvres will follow.
The event is sponsored by the UNC Charlotte Office of Diversity and Inclusion, UNC Charlotte Gerontology Program, Centralina Area Agency on Aging, Southminster, Gamma Psi chapter of Sigma Phi Omega, UNC Charlotte Department of Sociology, UNC Charlotte Office of Interdisciplinary Studies, and UNC Wilmington College of Health & Human Services.
