Directed by filmmaker Fiona Young, UNBROKEN is the first feature documentary to follow Shen Yun’s journey—from its founding in 2006 by a small group of artists seeking to revive traditional Chinese culture, to its rise onto the world’s most prestigious stages. With exclusive behind-the-scenes access, the film captures the dedication, discipline, and spiritual conviction that shape the lives of its performers.
Beyond the beauty of the art, UNBROKEN reveals the challenges faced along the way. As Shen Yun gained international recognition, it also became the target of sustained pressure, misinformation, and interference. Through personal stories—particularly those of two brothers and their fellow artists—the documentary explores what it means to uphold truth, faith, and cultural identity in the face of adversity.
