It's been a few years since we had a relaxed and stress free catch up to celebrate the end of the year here at Ultra Series, and we feel it is well overdue.We've deliberately set this "event" up with nearly all stops within a few hundred metres from a train station, for ease of "hop on/hop off" status, for those that want to jump ahead, fall behind or just want to do part of the run. Also, people can run/walk/bike or public transport to every location.
We'll start with a family friendly free bbq and some drinks at HQ Warehouse in Bayswater and some free goodies for the kids. There may even be a visit from the big man (if we bribe Zoe's husband - he doesn't know this yet).
Then from around 1pm, we'll hit the streets and make our way on a route to Seasonal Brewery (Maylands), Rocky Ridge Brewery (Burswood), Brew Garage (East Vic Park), Boston Brewery (Vic Park), on to the South Perth Ferry across to Elizabeth Quay, visit the Island Brew House there and then the penultimate location at Brightank (East Perth), before finishing up at Phat Brew Club (City West). All up, a total of about 28k if you want to run the whole lot, or obviously anything in between.
Ultra Series will cover costs of the bbq and drinks at the start and goodies for the kids, plus we'll have some cool giveaways and prizes throughout the day. Once we leave the warehouse, you will be responsible for your own costs.
This is designed to be a lighthearted, full spirited social gathering and definitely nothing serious. You can drink or not drink. You can run or not run, and if you see by the cover photo, the last time we did a tour de fridge, lots of us rode between stops.
Each venue will have food options along the way and plenty of other choices aside from beer.
So, bring your good spirits, invite your running mates around you (absolutely everyone welcome), and save the date for some good fun.
(yes I know it is 6 inch weekend, but there will still be thousands of us that won't be down there for it and for those keen, 6 inch is on the Sunday, so you can do both!!!).
