Dear excellent and admirable ukulelists,Cambridge Ukulele's fortnightly conclave has come around yet again and is on at the Elm Tree this Sunday. We'll be grabbing a beverage from the well stocked bar and gathering in our regular corner. We'll kick off proceedings at 3pm with a few easy numbers like "Johnny B. Goode" or "Blitzkrieg Bop". Once we're thoroughly warmed up (you've got to protect those vocal chords) we'll really get in amongst them with some classics such as "The Letter", "Love Shack" or maybe "Little Lion Man" (I was in the "L"s and they leaped out at me). So we'd love you to come along and join us. Whether it's your first time or you're a stalwart regular you'll be most welcome.
There have been a few more additions to our book. Thanks for the great suggestions, Gabrielle. It is growing ever larger but, thanks to some sterling work from Jonathan optimising it's format, you can now download it, safe in the knowledge that it's only half the size it was previously.
- Runaway - Del Shannon (from Gabrielle)
- Ruby - Kaiser Chiefs
- Happy Birthday - Traditional (from Gabrielle - you never know when it may come in handy)
It only remains for me to say have a great Guy Fawkes night or (depending on when you read this) I hope you had your fill of hotdogs and roasted chestnuts. It's also important to remember .. never return to a lit firework!
I hope to see you soon,
Mike
