«Мій карпатський дідусь» - українсько-італійська трагікомедія 2023 року режисера Зази Буадзе, у головних ролях Богдан Бенюк та Сімоне Коста.
У центрі історії - 16-річний Мікеле, юнак з українським корінням, який приїжджає з Італії до віддаленого села в українських Карпатах після втрати матері. Там він несподівано зустрічає свого дідуся, якого майже не знає.
На перший погляд, вони належать до абсолютно різних світів і поколінь та зовсім не розуміють один одного. Але поступово відстань між ними зникає, а їхня зустріч перетворюється на подорож до взаєморозуміння, примирення, родинної пам’яті та власного коріння.
Це тепла, зворушлива історія з гумором про родину, зв’язок між поколіннями, українську ідентичність та важливість розуміння того, звідки ми родом.
Фільм нагадує, що навіть дуже різні люди можуть знайти спільну мову, а іноді шлях до розуміння себе починається саме з повернення до свого коріння.

About the film
My Carpathian Grandpa is a 2023 Ukrainian-Italian tragicomedy directed by Zaza Buadze, starring Bohdan Beniuk and Simone Costa.
The film tells the story of 16-year-old Michele, a young Italian with Ukrainian roots who travels to a remote village in the Ukrainian Carpathians following the loss of his mother. There, Michele unexpectedly meets a grandfather Michele barely knows.
The two come from very different generations and initially struggle to understand each other. As their journey unfolds, the distance between them gradually disappears, opening the way to discovery, reconciliation and a deeper understanding of family.
Warm, moving and touched with humour, My Carpathian Grandpa explores family relationships, cultural identity, the connection between generations and the importance of understanding where we come from.
It is a story about rediscovering family, reconnecting with your roots and finding common ground even when two people appear to belong to completely different worlds.
