Long before Toronto had an Entertainment District, the Assoon Brothers took a raw warehouse at 185 Richmond Street West and filled it with a world-class sound system, music, people and possibilities.
Outside: factories, buildings and alleyways. Inside: The Twilight Zone — the club that shaped the future of Toronto’s nightlife.
Walking through those doors, you could almost hear Rod Serling in your head:
“You unlock this door with the key of imagination…”
Friday nights developed an identity all their own. UK Dance Floor brought alternative music to the Zone: new wave, rock, punk, funk, industrial, world beat, early house and hip-hop — with a few wild tracks mixed in.
Join us this Thanksgiving Sunday, October 11, as the Assoon Brothers and three legendary Toronto DJs — Ivan Palmer, Osaze and Michael X — bring you back in time to the original Friday nights at the Twilight Zone.
The music. The people. The memories, if you still got ’em.
