Course Overview
This course offers participants an expansion beyond business analysis and in MS Excel with a comprehensive introduction and overview of how Power Query and Power BI can be used to achieve more advanced analysis, visualisation and management of data. By completing this course, partipants will learn how to automate and streamline large data flows in Power Query and Power BI for further analysis or interactive and fully dynamic data visualisation dashboards. This course is intended for professionals at all levels of proficiency in excel and anslysis. It is not essential to have attended any other courses prior to commencement.
Partipants of this course will build a fully dynamic and interactive data dashboard from a large data set. As part of the course, participants will learn to clean and manipulate large data sets in preparation for analysis and will learn to apply various visualisation techniques to build and customise their dashboard.
Course Content
This course will provide a coverage of advanced financial modelling skills and techniques and wiill train participants through building a fully operational project finance model with advanced debt calculations and complimentary data analysis and visualisation skills. The course will cover the following:
- Setting up Power Query and Power BI;
- Orientation and introduction to the tools;
- Linking to multiple data sets;
- Cleaning, combining and manipulating large data sets;
- Analysis Techniques (basic);
- Customized / Sophisticated Techniques (DAX & M Programming)
- Comprehensive overview of visualisation techniques;
- Building a dynamic Power BI dashboard;
- Preparing paginated reports;
- Sharing / Posting dashboards in your organisation;
- Data security / applying access rights
