About this Event
Join us for a hands-on basketry workshop inspired by the traditional kishie of the Shetland Isles. —typically made of tule bundles— and coconut fiber string, you'll create your own generous, flat pouch-style basket. Perfect for carrying everyday essentials. You can easily add a shoulder strap later if you'd like.
This relaxed, beginner-friendly class offers plenty of guidance, time to practice, and the satisfaction of transforming simple natural materials into something both beautiful and useful. Along the way, you'll learn traditional basketry techniques, enjoy the rhythm of weaving, and leave with a handcrafted basket that's uniquely your own.
Participants please bring a pair of scissors and lunch !
