Join us for this relaxing Tropical Beach Watercolour Workshop with Judy SallehEscape to the tropics for a relaxing and creative afternoon as you explore the beauty of watercolour�painting.
Inspired by Australia's beautiful beaches, this colourful workshop will guide you through painting a tropical�beach scene from an aerial perspective, featuring crystal-clear turquoise water, sandy shores, swaying�palm trees and lush tropical foliage. Add a surfboard, colourful beach umbrellas and your own creative�touches to bring your beach paradise to life.
Judy will demonstrate how to mix and layer watercolours to create beautiful translucent washes, subtle�colour variations and a sense of depth. You'll discover how to let the watercolour flow naturally to capture�the movement and transparency of tropical water, before building up layers of colour to develop your�scene.
Experiment with a variety of greens and learn simple brush techniques to paint palm trees, delicate fronds�and tropical leaves. You'll be encouraged to interpret the scene in your own way, adding as much or as�little foliage, colour and detail as you wish.
During this workshop you’ll explore:
• Watercolour washes: Create soft, flowing washes to capture the beautiful colours and movement of tropical water.
• Layering techniques: Build up transparent layers of colour to create depth, variation and luminosity.
• Colour mixing: Explore combinations of turquoise, blues and greens to achieve vibrant tropical colours.
• Palm trees and foliage: Practise brush techniques to create expressive palm fronds, leaves and lush greenery.
• Light and shadows: Add simple shadows and contrasting tones to give your beach scene dimension.
• Creative interpretation: Develop your own composition with colourful beach accessories and personal touches.
