We’re closing the 1600 block of S. Lawrence to cars and opening it up to monsters, princesses, and whatever your kids talked you into this year.Bring the whole family. Walk down the middle of the street without dodging traffic. Trick or treat stoop to stoop, then stick around to see what everyone else showed up as. Grown-ups in costume get extra credit. So do dogs.
Neighbors will be out on their stoops handing out treats, so come say hi as you make your way down the block. Want to join in? Pull up a chair and bring a bowl. Candy works. So do glow sticks, stickers, temporary tattoos, and anything that won’t send a kid with a nut allergy home empty-handed.
