Transforming from Sex to Eros: Life Inside a Tantric Spiritual Community
An intimate evening of conversation exploring spirituality, yoga, community, sexuality, and what it really means to apply tantric practices in a modern lifestyle.
This event marks the launch of MISA: Inside Out β 15 Years With the Black Sheep of Yoga, a first-hand account of the practices inside one of Europeβs largest spiritual movements.
After 15 years immersed in this world, Kieran Dowling shares insights drawn directly from his experience. These practices often grab the headlines, but are rarely explored with depth or nuance. The evening will delve inside this world in a less sensational and more grounded way.
In conversation with former BBC reporter Stuart Maister, the discussion will explore:
- life inside a spiritual community
- tantric practices and the traditional process of initiation
- the tension between spiritual guidance and personal autonomy
- why so many people are still drawn to spiritual communities despite controversy
The second half of the evening opens to the audience β an honest, open Q&A around topics usually kept at the edges.
Note: While we aim to cover all the topics mentioned, it is a lot. And in an organic and dynamic conversation we will go with the flow, meaning the topics are guidelines, not questions set in stone.
Light refreshments will be served. Copies of the book will be available on the night.
Places are limited to keep the evening intimate. RSVP required.
Filming or recording of any kind is strictly prohibited.
