About this Event
On 7 May 2026, we honour the "Queen of Mathematics," Professor Maryam Mirzakhani (1977–2017) by announcing the next recipient of the Persia Mirzakhani Scholarship for Iranian Women in STEM. Maryam’s work on the symmetry of curved surfaces transformed modern geometry and made her the first woman and first Iranian to receive the Fields Medal. We celebrate not just her genius, but her legacy of empowering women of Iranian descent to pursue the highest levels of STEM research, as well as Persia's Mirzakhani sholars whose academic research is helping us build a better world.
