On Saturday, *October 24, 2026, the Springfield Redevelopment Authority, CTrail Hartford Line, and Amherst Railway Society will celebrate Halloween with their 4th annual Track-or-Treat event at Springfield’s Union Station.
A coven of dancing witches begins the festivities at 9 am on Union Station's concourse. The Track-or-Treat train will depart Springfield for Hartford around 9:55 am SHARP, with special guest “Maggie the Railroad Clown” onboard. Once in Hartford, the little ghosts and goblins will change trains for the ride back to Springfield.
When the Track-or-Treaters disembark at Union Station around 11:38 am, they will be greeted by a mini treat trail courtesy of Union Station tenants and partners, including Appleton Corporation, Magic Wings Butterfly Conservatory, Hertz, the YMCA, and supporters like the Springfield Police Department and Hampden County Sheriff's Office.
*Can't make it on the 24th? We're doing the whole thing BACKWARDS on Sunday, October 25th. The train will depart from Hartford, stop briefly in Springfield, and then return to Hartford Station for a treat trail!
Online ticket sales begin October 1st!
