KVCU Radio 1190 has been the official student radio station of the University of Colorado Boulder for almost 50 years … and now is your chance to peek behind the scenes of this student-run radio station broadcasting 24/7/365 online and to 3.5 million people on the Front Range airwaves. Join Radio 1190 general manager Iris Berkeley (who got her start in radio at the station in the nineties) and some of the station’s student managers for a guided tour of the station’s newly renovated studios, a Q&A about what radio means today, and a chance to hang out in the studio with Boulder’s finest student DJs.
We will meet at the station in the basement of the Carlson Gymnasium at CU at 4:00 PM.
Regarding parking and access to the station - the easiest hourly lots for folks are the ones under Folsom Stadium and the Euclid Auto Garage under the CASE (Center for Academic Success and Engagement) building. People can come in to Carlson Gymnasium through any door (the big stone staircase is the most obvious entrance, as seen in the photo attached, but there are also side doors for those who don’t want stairs) and take the elevator down to the basement — we are the only thing down there.
