Join saxophonist Tommaso Starace and the house trio for an unforgettable evening of jazz standards featuring tunes from the likes of George Gershwin and Cole Porter to Charlie Parker, Nat Adderley and Horace Silver.
Tommaso has a long association with the club going back to our days at the Green Man in Rackheath; and although now based in Europe it’s always our pleasure to welcome him back when he’s visiting the UK.
In one moment driving and boppy, in the next heartbreakingly lyrical, Tommaso always takes his audience (and band) on a lively journey, bringing great energy and often a measure of mischievous humour.
“Anyone who has experienced a glissando of language on the streets of Italy will understand the utter exuberance with which Italian-born Starace attacks and runs with the language of music”
Paul Medley, OXFORD TIMES
“He soars assertively when needed, cajoles and caresses with ‘molto’ lyricism on the ballads and demonstrates unequivocally that it is possible for contemporary jazz to be accessible”
