Publishing can be bewildering for authors. Why does it take so long for agents to come to you when you submit? Do you need an agent? Why does it take so long to get a book out once the contract has been agreed? What really goes on with your book in a publishing house? How much does it cost to publish a book? Is self publishing a bad idea? What does it mean when publishers talk about rights? Join us as we discuss these topics and more. Feel free, once you’ve registered, to submit your own questions.
Byte the Book’s Justine Solomons will chair this event, joined by Clare Christian, Director of Operations at Kevin Anderson & Associates; Catherine Kurtz, artist and author of Feast (Dialogue Books, 2026); and Abi Fellows, Literary Agent at DHH Literary.
As well as the discussion they’ll be plenty of time to network with the great the good of publishing and to meet other authors.

Entrance is free for Byte the Book and Century Club members. Tickets are £30 plus booking fee and VAT for everyone else. Booking is essential.
