Satisfying requests from audience members & TMSO musicians alike, Music Director Travis Cook & new Assistant Conductor Dr. Jon Busch will share the podium for TMSO's much-requested fall series: A Night at the Pops! Repertoire will showcase film scores from Star Wars, Gladiator, and Hamilton; music from Popeye & Betty Boop cartoons; and prominent hymns featured in movies (Amazing Grace, Nearer My God To Thee, and For the Beauty of the Earth).
**Audience members are encouraged to dress up in their favorite movie character costume to be entered into a drawing for 2 free movie passes from MJR Troy Cinema!
Also, there will be an opportunity to donate no-longer-used musical instruments as well as an instrument exploration event for children to "try out" different instruments. Detroit Harmony will have a booth set up from 6:00 - 8:45. (Detroit Harmony is a citywide initiative run by the Detroit Symphony Orchestra that collects new and gently used musical instruments to refurbish and distribute free of charge to K-12 students across Detroit.)
Concert admission is free (however, donations are gratefully accepted). All concerts are casual & family-friendly. Children are welcome.
