Join this experimental class that explores the world of raw and outsider artist, Jean-Michel Basquiat!
Explore the figure through raw marks, unexpected color, symbols, scribbles, and Basquiat-inspired energy.
Students will learn his artistic process and techniques, creating a painting in his style on a surface made of wood strips. We are going to also collage like Basquiat so bring paper, tissue, book pages, and a few of your Amazon boxes 😉

Supply List for Students to Bring:

This is a studio class and students will be using their supplies on the first week.

• medium-sized wood panel or plywood sheet (around 24")
• bring all your painting supplies!
• rags or Blue Shop Towels
• acrylic paints in various colors
• pens or markers
• different size brushes
