Featuring Besty Johnson, M.Ed.
Betsy Johnson is a poet, storyteller, educator and autism specialist whose work explores what it means to belong. Drawing from disability, healthcare, social justice, and the natural world, she writes about the ways people navigate uncertainty, connection, loss, resilience, and change.
Her poem "Mathematics of Mercy," which examines the human impact of Medicaid policy, was read on the floor of the House of Representatives by Congressman Jake Auchincloss.
Followed by an open mic night for anyone wanting to read their own poetry. Beverages available.
