About this Event
No prior theatre experience needed.
Using a range of theatre-based practices: from games, and improvisation to sound and body movement, we move beyond fixed forms and into something more fluid.
In this series of 4 individual workshops, we will be exploring how we create, change, reimagine, and destroy worlds/cosmos. And all the possibilities of what the worlds can be (interior worlds, cultural worlds, the Earth, the Universe, a grain of rice, fictional worlds, etc.).
This is a space to step outside familiar structures and see what emerges.
A final work of short video poems/monologues/soundscapes is optional based on interests.
The workshops will be facilitated by Dr. Pedro Pérez Rothstein.
Dr. Pedro Pérez Rothstein is a Brazilian-Spanish theatre director, dramaturg, actor and researcher with an MA in Dramatic Writing (UAL) and a PhD in Drama (QMUL). His doctoral thesis “Cosmopolitical Dramaturgies” focused on analysing the links between theatres, cities, and mental health by looking at case studies in London (Arcola Theatre), Barcelona (Teatre Lliure) and São Paulo (Teatro Oficina). Pedro has written plays and directed shows at The Actors Centre, the Camden Fringe Festival, Theatro Technis, Mad Hearts and SET Woolwich. Between 2023-2025, he created and led a Theatre Laboratory at Queen Mary University of London with students and alumni, devising a series of performances and short film experiments. Pedro is a member of the International Center for Artistic and Academic Research on Antonin Artaud and an artist-activator at Chisenhale Dance Space. He currently works as a Research Associate at People’s Palace Projects and as Performance Tutor at Mountview Academy for Theatre Arts.
