Cutting curly hair wet is one of the most misunderstood techniques in our industry. Plenty of stylists have heard it's a no-go, and plenty have tried it without really knowing why it works or how to do it right. This class is where that changes.
This is a look-and-learn session, so you'll watch the full process up close and hear the reasoning behind every step. You won't just see what I'm doing. You'll understand why, so you can walk back into your chair with confidence.
What we'll cover:
The consultation. How to ask the right questions, set expectations, and build trust before the shears ever come out.
Assessing the hair. Reading texture, density, porosity, and condition so you know what the hair needs before you start cutting.
Why wet? The reasoning behind cutting curly hair wet, when it's the right call, and how to account for shrinkage and curl pattern.
Sectioning and control. How to section with intention and stay in control of the cut from start to finish.
Product selection. Choosing the right products for the hair in front of you, and why it matters just as much as the cut.
The finished look. We'll style the hair so you can see the cut come to life and how everything we talked about shows up in the final result.
