Join the Little Traverse Conservancy’s environmental education staff at the Friendship Centers of Emmet County for a closer look at one of Northern Michigan’s most spectacular seasonal changes.Every fall, our forests transform into brilliant shades of red, orange, and gold, but what is actually happening inside the trees to create those colors? We’ll explore the science behind fall foliage, why some years are more vibrant than others, and how factors like soil, moisture, and temperature can influence the show.
If you’ve ever found yourself admiring the fall colors along a Northern Michigan road and wondering what makes them happen, this program is for you.
