Join us at Boynton House in Richmond Hill for a special historical exhibition marking the 80th anniversary of the opening of the Tokyo Trial (1946–2026).Through original photographs, documents, publications, and artifacts, the exhibition explores the Tokyo Trial, the Nanking Massacre, Comfort Women, biological and chemical warfare, POWs, Japan's surrender in 1945, and the pursuit of postwar justice.
Many of the materials on display — including photographs and documents relating to the Tokyo Trial and the war — come from Japanese sources and perspectives. Alongside them are materials from China and the Allied nations, as well as original archival documents from David Nelson Sutton, an American prosecutor at the Tokyo Trial.
By bringing these different records and perspectives together, we hope to look at this difficult history from multiple angles — not to promote hatred toward any nation, but to encourage remembrance, reflection, and a deeper understanding of what war can do to humanity.
History should be remembered so that its tragedies are not repeated.
Lest we forget.
