About the film
Dialogue Society Medway invites you to watch The Sultan and the Saint, a historical documentary about an extraordinary encounter between two men of faith. Set during the Crusades in the 13th century, the film explores the meeting between Saint Francis of Assisi, a Christian preacher, and Sultan Malik Al-Kamil, the Muslim ruler of Egypt.
At a time marked by conflict, fear and deep religious divisions, the two men chose dialogue, mutual respect and understanding. Their encounter shows how genuine human connection can overcome prejudice and hostility, even in the most challenging circumstances.
This screening is one of a series of events taking place during Interfaith Week, organised by Medway Interfaith Action (MIFA).
Entry is free, and the film runs for around 1 hour. Refreshments will be served.
