As a part of this group, you will explore songwriting as a natural process, working on the premise that anybody who wants to write a song will be able to do so.
Over this six-week course, you will delve into various aspects of the songwriting life and learn how to discover, ground, and develop your creative ideas, as well as how to overcome creative blocks.
Whether you are a complete beginner or someone who has been writing songs for years, this course offers a space to reflect on your process, receive feedback, and explore new ways of moving forward.
As you progress through the course, you will explore a variety of themes, and while the sessions include structured elements, they will also be adapted to suit the needs of individuals in the group, recognising that everyone has their own particular way of working.
We are delighted to confirm that each session will be led by Patrick Duff, making this course a very rare opportunity to develop your songwriting skills under the guidance of “one of the UK’s most intriguing and compelling singer-songwriters” (BBC Radio).
This course is a result of the shared endeavour by Patrick Duff and Glastonbury Abbey to make the arts more accessible and inclusive to all. It will be held at Abbey House, with inspiring views of the abbey ruins and its gardens.

Sessions run from 10am to 1pm.
A space on the course costs £60 per person and covers all six sessions.
