Behind unmarked doors. In historic homes, brownstones, basement lounges, back rooms, and living rooms where the music was too good to keep to ourselves.
Where Black musicians made history without asking permission. Where the cats could really play, the room knew how to listen, and the culture moved through every note.

We're bringing that feeling to Charlotte, NC.
Welcome to **Notes & Neighbors** — an intimate gathering of sound, soul, and good company. A little uptown sophistication. A little after-hours energy. Live musicians stretching beyond the setlist, conversations worth having, and a room full of people who understand that culture isn't just something we consume. It's something we carry.
Presented by **The Resonance Society**, a nonprofit rooted in the preservation of Black musical traditions, cultural storytelling, and historic spaces.
Because our music has always been more than entertainment. It's been our language, our resistance, our refuge, and our inheritance.
And now, we're making room for what's next.
Our vision is **The House of Resonance**: a permanent cultural home where musicians can create freely, generations can exchange stories, and the spaces that hold our history can find new life.
This isn't about nostalgia. It's about keeping the culture alive, in the hands of the people who shaped it.
**The music is live. The atmosphere is curated. The mission is bigger than the night.**

Just good people, serious musicians, and a legacy worth preserving.
