The Referral Table: Women in Business Exchange — Charlotte
The Referral Table is not a speaker event.
It is not a keynote.
It is not a panel.
It is not an open-ended mixer where guests spend two hours repeating the same elevator pitch.
The event is built around one practical question:
Who do you need to meet — and who could benefit from meeting you?
Each attendee works from two prompts:
I CAN HELP WITH:
What expertise, resource, service, introduction or experience can you offer?
I AM LOOKING FOR:
What client, referral partner, collaborator, vendor, resource or introduction would currently be useful?
Those answers guide the room.
The goal is not to meet all 35 other participants.
The goal is to identify several people worth speaking with again.
TIMELINE:
6:10–6:30 PM — Paid Check-In & Referral Map Setup
Guests check in, receive their badge and Referral Map, complete their Need / Offer prompts, and make their first informal connections.
6:30–6:38 PM — How the Room Works
A short orientation covering the networking format, rotation routes, timing, connection etiquette, and follow-up expectations.
6:38–6:50 PM — Need / Offer Exchange
Each attendee briefly shares one thing they can help with and one type of connection, referral, or resource they are currently looking for.
6:50–7:05 PM — Connection Round 1
Guests connect in pairs or small three-person groups for focused business conversations.
7:05–7:20 PM — Connection Round 2
Attendees rotate according to their assigned route and meet a new mix of participants.
7:20–7:27 PM — Working Reset
Guests update their Referral Map and identify the people they want to reconnect with, introduce, or follow up with.
7:27–7:46 PM — Referral Tables
Small groups discuss potential introductions, collaborations, useful resources, and referral opportunities.
7:46–8:05 PM — Follow-Up Connections
Open networking focused on reconnecting with the most relevant people identified during the earlier rounds.
8:05–8:12 PM — One Next Step
Each attendee chooses one concrete follow-up action to complete within 48 hours.
8:12–8:15 PM — Closing
Final notes and instructions for receiving the post-event directory and Referral Follow-Up Pack.
