As poets and writers, we are often tasked with conceptualizing the unimaginable. While pop-culture offers visions of post-apocalyptic landscapes, what is it actually like to imagine the end of the world and to fill-in the blank pages beyond the end? Can we, as wordsmiths, alter our collision course with oblivion by cultivating better imaginations? The point of the apocalypse poem is to live in the present. What are we desperately holding on to? What do we wish to save? That’s the reason we write about the end of the world, to return to right now, this moment when it’s not over yet. This workshop is open to all experience levels, the curious and the seasoned poet. Limited to 12 participants.
