About this Event
The Players’ Showcase
The musicians behind the music are finally taking center stage.
The Players’ Showcase is a live music competition created to spotlight exceptional up-and-coming musicians who have the talent, skill and passion—but may not have had their big opportunity yet.
Hosted at Londzell Performing Arts Theatre, this one-of-a-kind experience puts 16 finalists on a professional stage in front of a live audience and a panel of eight accomplished celebrity and touring musicians who know firsthand what it takes to perform at the highest level.
The competition features four musical divisions:
Drums & Percussion
Bass, Guitar & Strings
Keys
Woodwind & Brass
Four finalists from each division will take the stage for individual performances, giving each musician the opportunity to showcase their sound, technique, creativity, stage presence and musicianship.
But the competition doesn’t stop there.
The Players’ Challenge
No rehearsal. No song list. Just musicianship.
After the solo rounds, all 16 finalists will be reorganized into four live bands, with one musician from each division.
They won’t know what songs are coming.
The DJ will drop surprise tracks, and the musicians will have to immediately listen, adapt, find the pocket and perform together as a unit.
This is where technical ability meets real-world musicianship.
The judges will evaluate not only how well each finalist performs individually, but also their ability to collaborate, listen, adjust and create music in the moment.
By the end of the night:
16 Live Performances
4 Competition Divisions
8 Celebrity-Musician Judges
4 Players’ Challenge Bands
4 Category Winners
Winners will compete for opportunities that may include cash prizes, professional equipment, video production, rehearsal time, paid performance opportunities, industry exposure and other prizes provided by event partners.
Whether you’re a musician, music lover, industry professional or simply someone who appreciates incredible live talent, The Players’ Showcase is an opportunity to experience the people who make the music come alive.
Come discover the next generation of musicians.
