Bay Area Managers of Volunteer Services (BAMVS) is thrilled to announce our Fall workshop — a morning dedicated to connection, professional growth, and practical strategies to strengthen volunteer engagement.
Our workshop theme, The Onboarding Advantage: Turning First Experiences into Long-Term Volunteer Engagement, will explore one of the most critical moments in the volunteer journey: the beginning. A volunteer’s first interactions with your organization can shape their confidence, connection, and commitment for years to come.
We are honored to welcome Kristy Judd, retired CEO of Spark the Change Colorado and reDirect Trainer/Coach, as our featured keynote speaker. Drawing on decades of experience in strategic volunteer engagement, Kristy will lead an engaging and interactive session exploring how organizations can move beyond simply orienting volunteers to intentionally creating meaningful onboarding experiences that build belonging, strengthen relationships, and improve long-term retention.
Whether you are just beginning your journey in volunteer engagement or have years of experience leading complex volunteer programs, this workshop will offer valuable insights, fresh perspectives, and practical tools you can put into action immediately. New volunteer leaders will gain a strong foundation for creating welcoming and effective volunteer experiences, while seasoned professionals will have the opportunity to re-evaluate long-standing practices, discover innovative approaches, and exchange ideas with peers who understand the evolving landscape of volunteer engagement.
