About this Event
The Nurture Network is a series of events co-created by local female founder, Leah Halliday and community organisation Midsteeple Quarter. We hope to create a warm, welcoming space for women in business across Dumfries & Galloway to build community and connection. Whether you're just starting out or years into your journey, we would love you to join us.
For our last session of 2026, we wanted to put together something a little extra special. For so many of us running our own businesses, December comes and goes without a Christmas works night out. There's no office party and no team to raise a glass with. Often it's just us, working longer hours than ever, trying to get through the busiest few weeks of the year and juggling life! So this year we wanted to change that.
So our November gathering is The Nurture Network's very own Christmas night out!
At the start of the evening there will be a festive networking activity to help you meet new faces and catch up with familiar ones. We'll be gathering around the table with festive food, there will be a selection of canapés and alcohol-free mulled wine. Sharing food is one of the simplest ways to connect, and we'd love this evening to feel less like a networking event and more like a get-together with friends. Please do let us know if you have any dietary requirements.
Leah will then lead a mindful craft workshop, something calm and creative to help us slow down and take a breath. Crafting and a bit of creative play can be so good for us, giving busy minds a well-earned rest and a time to pause. No experience is needed and all materials are provided, so you'll go home with something you've made yourself.
Let's take a bit of time to enjoy some festive cheer and celebrate the year together!

The Green Room at The Standard, 139 High Street, Dumfries. Access to this space from the High Street is via The Standard Close
The venue has step-free access, an accessible toilet with baby changing facilities, and nearby parking is available at Irish Street Car Park, including Blue Badge spaces.
