Presented by SAMA: Music + Art
A rare and transcendent evening of sacred Armenian music reimagined for the modern world.
The Armenian Naghash Ensemble brings together the haunting beauty of medieval Armenian sacred poetry with contemporary classical composition and traditional folk instrumentation. Centered on the mystical texts of the 15th-century Armenian priest and poet Mkrtich Naghash, the ensemble weaves voices, duduk, oud, dhol, and piano into music that feels both ancient and urgently present.
Under the direction of Armenian-American composer John Hodian, the ensemble creates a soundscape that is cinematic, meditative, and emotionally expansive, at once devotional and deeply human. Their performances have captivated audiences across Europe, the Middle East, and North America, offering something increasingly rare: stillness, depth, and connection.
In a time when the Armenian story continues to evolve, shaped by diaspora, memory, resilience, and renewal, this music carries history forward while opening space for reflection and shared humanity.
Join us at Town Hall Seattle for an evening that bridges centuries, cultures, and hearts.
