Storytelling as an influencing skill - a mini workshop
About this Event

Your host (Andrew Thorp) explains:

INTRODUCING THE MULTI-STORY CLUB

The Multi-Story Club (MSC) is an informal gathering of people who want to develop their influencing skills through what I call ‘storytelling’. This is a way of framing a message so it truly lands with your audience, whether from the stage or in conversation. In essence, it's about how to connect.

These short 90-minute meetings complement my , which encapsulates pretty much everything I’ve been teaching in my 15 years as a coach and trainer in the business world. Both the course and these MSC meetings are focused on developing 5 key stories:

  • Your own life/career journey
  • Elevator pitch
  • Anecdote
  • Case study
  • Presentation

You don’t have to enrol on the course to attend the meetings, but combining both is the most effective route to success. The online course will be available by the time we meet for the first Multi-Story Club event.

At each MSC event we’ll explore a single sub-topic within the Storytelling Course which will help you develop any or all the above 'Big 5' - for example:

  • using humour
  • how to use your voice
  • making a dry topic interesting
  • building a story library
  • the power of the metaphor

These discussions are facilitated by me and typically include demonstrations, a chance to practise, Q&A and the occasional special guest. A small fee applies for each meeting and you can dip in and out as you please.

As a ‘club’, MSC is simply an informal community of people who share an interest in storytelling and personal development.
