We are delighted to announce the return of the MOD War Detectives for our next monthly talk — an evening dedicated to uncovering the stories of those who served, but were never identified. The MOD War Detectives (formally the Joint Casualty and Compassionate Centre Commemorations team) carry out the extraordinary and sensitive work of identifying the remains of soldiers discovered on historic battlefields, naming previously unknown graves, and coordinating military burial services. Their dedication ensures that every individual is remembered with the dignity and respect they deserve.
Last year’s visit from the team was one of our most memorable events, with overwhelmingly positive feedback from all who attended. We are thrilled to welcome them back for another fascinating and moving evening.
Their work holds a special place in our hearts, as it resonates deeply with our own mission to commemorate the history and sacrifices made within our regiment. In hosting the War Detectives, we pay tribute not only to the soldiers they identify, but also to all those who gave their lives in service.
The event will feature genuine artefacts, insightful discussion, and the rare opportunity to learn about the meticulous process behind their investigations. Guests will also enjoy wine, soft drinks, a buffet, and exclusive after-hours access to the museum.
